Ideas for a Year

No matter how overcast the horizon may seem, there go a few ideas to begin this year with a bit of a thought:

- Collaborative Consumption. You'll remember one of the classes last year when we discussed collaborative funding (crowdfunding) or working (crowdsourcing). Well, the new trend seems to be a way of using things beyond the ownership of such items. For more info, click here, and here (in Spanish).
My query is, now what about production, shopping, market, jobs etc.?
- Pentagon Inventions. After all the buzz about Obama's cutbacks in the USA defense budget, some bloggers come to think about the consequences of those cutbacks on research and development. Here you can read (in Spanish) about it, and you can also watch this video featuring a nano machine that looks like a hummingbird. I can tell you that the natural version is much, much more beautiful (and has more endurance too).
My point here is, those inventions were devised by scientists, weren't they? It was just the money that came from the military. Scientists, Science, Research, I mean.
