Stray cat takes high office

Upper-Intermediate to Advanced

American dream? Not quite.
Larry, a formerly stray tabby has been appointed "Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office" in order to dispense with all the rodents infesting 10, Downing Street (UK's PM headquarters).

In a move that speaks highly of British standards when it comes to acquiring pets, the fluffy little buddy was not purchased, on public money, at a high-street pet shop or from a posh breeder: instead, a visit to the local home for abandoned cats and dogs just did the trick. Which looks like a nice example to me.
