Do not believe...

... everything you read, especially on the web.

Last week there was a global stir in the photography world concerning the supposed ban on DSLRs issued by the government of Kuwait, which was reported by The Kuwait Times. Fortunately, there are still some suspicious watchmen over the net who didn't place much credit in the information, like Mike Johnston at T.O.P. because, eventually, the information turned out to be false, fake, a hoax, bullshit.

Yesterday, a week after the original report had been issued, The Kuwait Times' retraction was published:

The retraction itself comes in the first paragraph of the article, and the rest is the original item published a week ago. Nevertheless, the wrong information about the fake ban has continued to spread thanks to several "trustworthy" international media, including our good ole' cadena SER in its Sunday edition.

Hopefully, all this won't apply to Wikileaks massive scoop released today over the globe...
